Good learning and resets the perspective and ego. I don't believe Karl one bit (and I'm guessing he's wondering about the quote too) when he says 100 miles isn't that far. It demands respect.
Good for you trudging to the finish. It sucks but you're a better runner now.

Re: 04/28/13 — 2013 Eugene Marathon

That is an impressive time. It felt like I was right there with you - which is exhilarating considering I'd never run a 5:50 mile on my own. It sounds like you mastered a wonderful race. You're definitely a road runner with a 2:34 marathon. Lots of pointy rocks, slippery roots, stuff really requiring focus. The grades are steeper but less sustained. Expect steep ups/downs that only last a couple hundred feet at most.

Are you running this weekend? Sounded pretty nice honestly. Though I agree their standard roasts are a little harsh. I rarely buy their brewed coffee, especially if it's Pike Place. Blech.

Their regional coffees though, like their Guatemalan, are my standard coffee at home. Really consistent quality. I like the distinct taste that coffees from certain areas of the world have...

Re: Starbucks — Boise, ID

Flying M...next trip to Boise!

Re: Java Hyde Park — Boise, ID

Mr. Weasel,
I am thoroughly enjoying your coffee tour. Kind Coffee's dark roast in Estes is about my favourite in CO; also Java Mountain in Idaho Springs, and enjoy City on a Hill in Pbville a lot, but sometimes it's hard to separate the coffee itself from the vibe -- "used books" would probably score points with me to make up for other trinkets!
